Dean Blotto Gray might have the coolest gig on the planet. He's the head photog for Burton, and you'll find his photos gracing the pages of major snowboard mags on a monthly basis. Props, Blotto, keep 'em coming!

Band of Horses - Everything All the Time
Hey, likers of My Morning Jacket, I think you would enjoy any of the albums from Band of Horses. I'm listening to Everything All the Time and my ears are liking the sounds...

More Demotivation...
(When you wish upon a falling star, your dreams can come true. Unless it's really a meteor hurtling to the Earth which will destroy all life. Then you're pretty much hosed no matter what you wish for. Unless it's death by meteorite.)
I'm not kidding around here folks! This has to be the best site on the www internet! I wish I had enough of the money to buy one of everything on despair.com. That's funny stuff right there. Now go read and laugh.

Samuel Smith's
Smokin' deal on Sam Smith's at the local drunkery store. $4/4-pack! Can't pass that up, so I cleaned 'em out of Sam Smith's. My beer-tasting taste buds are very happy for the purchase. Glug-glug-glug!

Despair
Seriously, you gotta add something from despair.com to your holiday wish list. What? Nobody likes you enough to get you a gift? Buy something for yourself. My favorites, the I > U shirt and the pessimist's mug. Good times!

1% For The Planet
So I'm sure the few of you that stumble upon this blog are doing at least a few things to help us out of this colossal environmental mess the humans have managed to create on this planet. I'm far from doing everything that I can do, but I'm constantly trying to learn and act on obvious things that I think make a difference (recycling, commuting by bike when possible, conserving water/electricity, etc.) One project that I think can make a big difference is 1% For The Planet. Started by Yvon Chouinard, founder and owner of Patagonia, 1% For The Planet consists of businesses committed to donating 1% of sales to environmental groups around the world. There are currently over 700 members. Patagonia is one of my favorite outdoor equipment companies, not only because of the quality of their gear, but because of their commitment to help make this world a better place to live. I'd urge you to support those companies committed to making a difference...

WY Singletrack - Nov 10, 2007
An unprecedented second weekend in a row of full clearance called for a quick trip to our neighbors to the north on Saturday. Dave, Tim, and I drove up to explore the new mountain bike trails WY. Even though we had heard good things about this new trail system, none of us were quite sure what to expect. Not even ten minutes into the ride, we were more than impressed. The singletrack, seventeen miles of it so far, is incredibly well planned, meandering around and over all sizes of granite rock formations and offering some of the most stunning scenery you could ever ask for. Into the singlespeeding, are you? You'll feel more than welcome on your one speed bike. Rigid? Bring it. There's not a "big" mountain in the entire park, but don't be fooled. The park is loaded with short, challenging climbs, so bring an easy gear if you plan to singlespeed this ride. As always, I was on the 34x20. We didn't get to ride everything in the park (approx. 17 miles), and the plan calls for a total of 32 miles. Get some soon because as word spreads, the masses from the front range will be invading in the near future. See a few photos here.

La Cucaracha!
One big'ole hell yeah on the new Ween album, La Cucaracha! This was my one-album-a-month purchase this month. As always with a Ween album, La Cucaracha is a genre-spanning roller coaster ride. Isn't that right Gene, so right....

While I try to gather my thoughts from a perfect weekend of riding in Fruita, I'll let a few photos try to tell the story.

Published!
Two of my photos from the Monolith Festival have been published by Paste magazine (p53, Nov 2007). While I'm incredibly excited about my photos being published, I'm more than disappointed that the magazine neglected to include photo credits. The photos of Britt Daniel of Spoon and Kamara Thomas of Earl Greyhound on p53, Nov 2007 are my photos. See more of my Monolith Festival photos here. Rock.
